Hello!

Let me first take the time to say that I think your software is not only very useful, but I greatly appreciate the service you provide. I have just finished installing the lite version onto my phpBB and everything seems to be working just great.

I am having a problem with your servers recognizing me as the Admin for my site. I wanted to enter a custom dictionary of words that will be global for the users of my forum. As per your instructions, I have edited the code in spell-gw.php to now read

define('ADMIN_USERNAME', 'Tpel') ;

Even though this has been added to the file and I have successfully logged into the SpellingCow BB, the pop up window that allows you to edit your site-wide dictionary is reporting that "You are not the site admin.". I was wondering if I missed anything? Any help you could offer would be very appreciated. Thank you for your time. Smile

Hello,
I too am having this exact problem. Everything seems to be working perfectly, I am catching spelling errors left and right. But when I attempt to login to spellingcow in the actual spell check interface I get the following error
Quote:
SpellingCow.com Forum Index
General Error
Hack attempt detected. Logging incident and terminating session. Kicking user in the nuts.

And like Tpel, I have edited spell-gw.php file as directed.

Thanks in advance for your help.

PS Very funny error message

This is just a bump to see if anyone had figured out a solution to the Admin problem with SpellingCow? The system works wonderfully, but I really would like to edit that site wide dictionary. That of course is not possible until SpellingCow recognizes that I am the admin for my site. Again, the code is verified in place and all other functions are working. The only problem is SpellingCow.com not recognizing my user name "Tpel" as the site admin. I would be interested in hearing any information at all on this topic. Thank you once again. Wink

After not checking on this request for some time, I still have not resolved this issue. If anyone knows why this may be happening, I would be very grateful for any assistance. Thank you in advance. Smile

I am having the same issue as Tpel. I have edited spell-gw.php but I am still told I am not the site admin. Any help is much appreciated.

I had the same problem, it ended up being that I had replaced the spell-gw.php file in the Spelling Cow folder but not in my forum's main folder, where it was copied. After I replaced both files, it worked fine. Hope I helped. Very Happy

I have a nagging suspicion that a HD clean up utility may have done something but this could be a red herring

Any ideas? My only ideas left are to set up another admin account to see if this cures things but I suspect if it does and I try and use this new account I will end having to change the admin privileges of files throughout the system! I also have the option of using a bootable clone startup disk I made a couple of weeks ago using Carbon Copy Cloner but I am not sure if the problem existed then.
