Fact 1 : SC can tell if you are logged in as admin, so as to allow the options/site admin page to add words to the site dictionary

Fact 2 : There is a gap among the buttons on the main page of SC

Fact 3 : When you want to add 10 words (or in my case about 30 words) to the Site dictionary in one go, the only way is to type or paste each word one at a time into the edit box and press the button.

Fact 4 : Adding to the personal dictionary can be done from the Main page via a button.

The above 4 facts suggest to me that it is possible to have a button on the main page that only appears if you are logged in as admin and adds the offending word to the site dictionary.

This would really help me and I am guessing easy to do.

Do-able? Good Idea?

Either way thanks a lot.

The extra space will probably be taken by and "undo" function. Plus I need to integrate a "grammar check" feature at some point as well. A few people have requested "batch" site dictionary additions, so clearly something is needed. I think the best way to do this will be from the options subsystem. When looking at the personal dictionary, I could have some way of instructing to include selected words in the site wide dictionary too. Plus someone (you?) requested an import/export function and this could also accomplish the task.

Yep, that was me, forever the trouble maker Smile

Sounds like you are going to possibly need another row of buttons.

Either way as long as you keep the idea in mind and if you think its worthwhile ....

As an admin I quite often come across words that need to be in the Site Dictionary, and the current system is 2 clicks, type in word and then 2 clicks to get back. Perhaps I do more than other admins (since mine is a gaming site with lots of weird words).
Thanks

Hi, I just installed Spelling Cow and so far am very pleased with it. I, too, would love to have an "Add to Site Dictionary" button. As a matter of fact, I wish the current "Add" button would just automatically (for admins) add the selected word to my site-wide dictionary in addition to my personal dictionary.

How do you feel about that?

Oops. I see this has been requested before too.
