Hi Nuttzy
Not had problems with the spell checker for ages ... apart from one occasion when there was a major fault on the Internet backbone and I could not reach your server ... there does not appear to be any way of skipping the Spell checker if this happens so you just cannot submit your posting - it just hangs in limbo. The only way around this, without loosing all posting you have just typed is to open another browser, navigate to your profile and turn off the auto check spelling flag and then re-submit. i am sure most of our users would not be able to do that .... 
Anyway back to this mornings bug .... | Code: | Could not obtain spell data. Data is only kept for 60 minutes since last action.

This was certainly not open for 60 mins ... maybe 60 sec's but I think I might have clicked the submit button twice as for some reason things appeared to be running slow ...

Nope that's not the case (although it used to be before version 1.2). If SpellingCow cannot be reached within 10 seconds then the post will automatically go through. You can check the code yourself in spell-gw.php on your server. Search for the code starting with this comment: | Code: | // yikes! if you have auto check on and can't reach our server, then we need to make sure your site

This one does appear from time to time and I'm not sure why. Let me know if you get it more often. People that have reported it say they've gotten it once in a blue moon. If it becomes more frequent then I'll look into it, but right now it just looks like a rare hiccup. Definitely let me know if you get it again though so we can track the frequency of it!

Blah!!!!!!!!!!!!! MSN bot has crushed my site for 30 minutes each of the last 2 days. It makes my site unusable (but not unreachable). So this is the flaw in my software. If my site is DOWN then it works fine and things keep chugging. If it is barely reachable, then it doesn't give up like it is supposed to and no one can post.
I will fix this ASAP!!!!!!!! I can always shutdown my web server if it's a serious problem and that way others won't be effected.
